Nikki Haley Wishes Trump ‘Great Success’ After He Says She Won’t Be in His Cabinet

Nikki Haley Responds to Trump’s Cabinet Decision

Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and a Republican who ran against Donald Trump in the primary race, responded graciously after Trump announced she would not be part of his new administration.

On Saturday, Haley posted on social media wishing Trump and his team “great success.” She wrote, “I was proud to work with President Trump defending America at the United Nations. I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving us forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years.”

Trump’s Statement on Cabinet Choices

Haley’s message came after Trump posted on Truth Social that neither she nor former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would be joining his new cabinet. Despite this, Trump expressed his appreciation for their prior service, saying, “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Haley’s Previous Support for Trump

During her campaign, Haley positioned herself as an alternative to Trump. However, just before Election Day, she showed her support for him by writing an opinion piece titled “Trump Isn’t Perfect, but He’s the Better Choice.”

In her op-ed, Haley acknowledged that she did not always agree with Trump, but ultimately endorsed him over Vice President Kamala Harris. She wrote, “I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time, but I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time. That makes this an easy call.”

Rumors had been circulating for weeks about who would be part of Trump’s cabinet before the official announcement was made.
